We really weren't sure how Maddox would handle his first day of school, but he did great. I had expected to have to take him in, but he told me good-bye at the door and never looked back. It took me a few minutes to realize he really wasn't coming back for me. No tears, but lots of butterflies for me. Fingers crossed for a great school year!
Since he clearly didn't want me to go in with him, I had to snap a picture from outside the classroom door. He literally never looked back!

It is hard and fun to see them be so independent all at the same time, but I think it would make things worse if they are crying and clinging, because then they would be sad without you there! What a brave boy!
Hope he is still enjoying Kindergaten.
