Gannon's MRI/MRA

Gannon had to be sedated for his MRI/MRA, so a 40 minute procedure turns into a 4 hour visit to the hospital. He had it done at the Primary Children's Outpatient facility in Riverton. They were awesome! They did such a great job keeping him distracted with fun things and keeping us informed on everything going on. It went really well and the neurologist had already left us a message to call him to go over his results before we had even gotten home from the hospital.

As we have already stated before, he does have cerebral palsy and it is in the form of spastic diplegia (lower extremities). The MRI showed some scarring in the area of the brain that controls the leg fibers. The neurologists told us that he usually sees this in preemies and was surprised to have found this with Gannon. This was most likely due to some type of trauma he experienced during my pre-term labor issues. There is no way for us to pinpoint a specific incident and I know I can't continue to beat myself up over it. Thanks to Kids on the Move, we are doing exactly what we need to be to have him on the right track. He should continue to get better and better everyday.
